About Us
PermessoNegato was founded in 2019 to fill a gap: providing technological support and legal guidance to victims of Non-Consensual Pornography and online violence.
Despite being very young, the association quickly became one of the leading entities at the European level, fostering collaborations and partnerships with international institutions and social networks.
What we do
We develop and implement technologies, strategies, and policies to prevent the proliferation of Non-Consensual Pornography (also known as IBSA – image-based sexual abuse – and “Revenge Porn”) and other forms of online violence and hate. This is achieved through the identification, reporting, and removal of content from major online platforms. We provide strategic and educational support to those advocating for policies and laws to protect targets of NCII, Revenge Porn, or other forms of online violence and hate.
The vision
We believe that healthy sexuality (online and offline) should be free and protected: it is essential to trigger a profound change aimed at breaking down stigmas and spreading the culture of consent.
We believe that technology has forever changed everyday life: a digital education promoting awareness of this new way of experiencing reality, not as divided between online and offline but as a continuum (one-life), is necessary.
We believe that the perception of the web as a threat and hostility or prejudice towards sexuality are united by a difficulty in accepting change. New generations must be able to take the great opportunities offered by innovation, being fully aware of the risks they are exposed to: that requires a cultural shift is needed by those responsible for preparing and educating them.
The mission
Provide swift and concrete help to victims.
Protect the privacy and right to be forgotten of victims: you will never find explicit references to news events on our channels that amplify the visibility of victims.
Build a community that can expand the support network while spreading the culture of consent and better digital education, in terms of rights, duties, and opportunities.
Invest in training and information, analyzing the problem from different perspectives based on role, generation, and type of involvement.
The people
Our association was born from the meeting of professionals united by the perception of a gap in support and counteraction to digital hate phenomena, and the urgency to limiting the problem.
An interdisciplinary team with extensive experience in managing the counteraction of Non-Consensual Pornography phenomena: security and reputation experts, process and caring experts, lawyers (technology and weak subjects’ rights), psychologists, and criminologists.
